Managed not only to get a full Plough Jag team photo at the start, but also to get photos and a video record of two performances of the Jag in Gainsborough. For once all the musicians and Hatmen appear on photos (a conspicuous omission in past jags). Youngsters appeared this year in the form of Michael Baker, Sam and Harry Bilmore. Michael performed excellently as the second horse in the morning and afternoon and as the Horse in the evening. he managed to create a new character as the second horse - The Doctor's Donkey. Perhaps this character will appear again. Sam Bilmore gamely played fiddle at all the performances in the morning and afternoon and appeared to take it in his stride like a seasoned Jagger. Harry, playing tambourine, also managed to keep up but he was visibly tired after lunch - but then he was only 6 years old.

Dave Hoy was a magical Napoleon Bonaparte, and the sight of him and young Harry having a sword fight in Gainsborough Market Place will be remembered by all who saw it. Harry could only pick on Dave because they were the only two characters with swords.

Kate Bilmore managed to be the first woman to complete a tour with the Jag for many years.

At the Pig and Whistle Ralph Tomlins, an original Coleby Plough Jagger joined the team for a few songs. After tea, when a shuffle round was required because Steve Hindley had to go off to work on a night shift, Ralph took over as The Doctor's Donkey, and added to the singing and tunes by playing his guitar.

The turn out was excellent and the reception at most venues was equally fitting for this the 25th Jubilee Coleby Plough Jag.

The Video is of the Jaggers outside a closed White Horse, in Lords, the performance in Gainsborough Market Place and then a Jaggers -eye view of the performance in the White Horse with all characters being pictured.

Photographs include the St George v Napoleon Bonaparte sword fight. The Scunthorpe Evening Telegraph published some excellent photographs, taken at Ashby Broadway.
